SchoolDeck schedules fee reminders relative to each instalment date rather than the calendar, sends them by SMS, WhatsApp or the parent app, stops automatically the moment payment posts, and suppresses families with an approved extension. Credits are billed at cost.
Reminders raise collection where the cause is forgetfulness or friction. They do not help where a fee structure is genuinely unaffordable, and sending more of them makes that worse.
A reminder that arrives on the due date, names the amount and the head, and contains a link that works, gets paid. One that arrives weekly, addresses the parent by the student’s name, and says "kindly clear your dues" gets muted — and once muted, it is muted for the examination notice too.
The failure mode is not too few reminders. It is a weekly broadcast to everyone with a balance, including families who have already paid and families you have already granted an extension to. Both of those teach parents that your messages are not worth reading.
Reminders here are tied to the instalment: one before the due date, one on it, one after the grace window closes with the late fee named. Payment stops the sequence within the hour. An approved extension suppresses it entirely until the new date.
Phrased the way they arrive, answered so each one stands on its own.
Yes, automatically, as soon as the payment posts. A parent who pays in the morning does not get the afternoon reminder, which is the single most damaging thing a fee reminder system can do.
Yes, alongside SMS and the parent app. WhatsApp requires an approved template and a business account; credits for both SMS and WhatsApp are billed at cost rather than marked up.
Yes. Families with an approved extension are suppressed until the new date, and individual students can be excluded with a recorded reason and approver so the exclusion is not invisible.
