Two things set the price: how many students are enrolled, and which tier you are on. Nothing inside a tier is metered — if examinations are in your tier, you run as many as you like, for as many sections as you have.
Enrolment is counted once at the start of the academic year. Students admitted mid-year are charged pro-rata; students who leave are not refunded, which is the part worth stating here rather than discovering at renewal.
Essential suits a school coming off spreadsheets that mainly needs admissions, records, attendance, fees and report cards. Professional is where most schools end up, because timetabling and examinations are the two things that break first once the basics are working.
