Per-student annual pricing is the norm, commonly between ₹120 and ₹250 per student per year for a full-featured tier, with rates falling above roughly 1,000 students. Watch for separate charges for implementation, per-user licences, SMS credits and gateway fees.
Self-hosting is worth it only if you have in-house IT who will own backups, upgrades and security patching for the life of the system. Most schools underestimate the upgrade burden and end up running an unpatched version two major releases behind.
