Produce a salary slip with earnings and deductions as separate lists, so the net is derived rather than typed and the three figures cannot disagree. The net is also rendered in words, which is the first thing a bank checks.
It formats a slip. It does not compute statutory deductions and it is not payroll — provident fund, professional tax and TDS are entered as your own payroll calculates them.
A salary slip is used to prove income, which means somebody outside the school will read it carefully. The commonest defect in a hand-made one is arithmetic: a net figure that does not equal earnings less deductions, usually because a line was edited and the total was not.
Because a slip whose net disagrees with its own lines is rejected, and the person who has to explain it is the employee rather than the office that produced it. Deriving the figure removes the entire class of error.
It is not payroll. It does not compute provident fund at the applicable rate, does not calculate TDS against a declaration, and does not produce the returns that follow from either. A school running payroll on this alone will produce correct-looking slips and incorrect filings.
What it is for: a one-off slip an employee needs at short notice, or a small school issuing a handful a month against figures it has already computed.
Phrased the way they arrive, answered so each one stands on its own.
No. Rates and thresholds change and depend on the employee’s declarations. Enter what your payroll computes; this formats the slip.
Usually when it is on the institution’s letterhead and signed by an authorised signatory. That signature is what makes it the employer’s statement, which is why the space is left blank here.
No. It runs in your browser, nothing is sent anywhere, and there is no sign-in. Printing uses your own browser’s print dialogue, which is also how you save it as a PDF.
